Good to know before applying

1. For the Department of Medicine in the Faculty of Medicine, to apply you must score at least 90% of the full score in EJU Japanese (reading, listening, listening-reading) and at least 80% of the full score in total for Mathematics and 2 science subjects.
2. Even if you do not hold Japanese nationality, you cannot apply to the 'Privately Funded International Student Admission' if you have graduated from a Japanese high school or hold Japanese permanent residency.
3. Application documents (application form, résumé, envelopes, etc.) are not attached to the application guidelines; you must request the university's own forms in advance.
4. Application documents must arrive by express registered mail by the last day of the application period (Dec 18 for International Resource Sciences, Education and Culture, Integrated Environmental Science and Engineering, and Information and Data Science; Jan 27 for the Faculty of Medicine).
5. Once the application procedure is completed, the application fee already paid is not refunded for any reason.

Admission fee ¥282,000 + tuition ¥535,800 per year (planned amounts). The admission fee and first-term tuition are paid on the payment site by credit card or Pay-easy (cash not accepted). In principle, the admission fee is not refunded after enrollment procedures are completed.

Documents to prepare

Application form, admission ticket and photo form; application fee payment receipt; certificate of graduation (or expected graduation) from high school and academic transcript (copies not accepted; translated into Japanese if not in Japanese or English); copy of the EJU 2026 admission ticket (except for International Resource Sciences); résumé; addressed envelope for sending the admission ticket, etc.; certificate of residence stating your status of residence (if you live in Japan) or a copy of your passport, etc. (if you live outside Japan). For International Resource Sciences: TOEIC L&R, TOEFL iBT or IELTS score report. For practical test takers in the Elementary and Secondary Education Course: practical test record form.

Student life support

Housing for international students: International Student House (single room about 18 m², ¥5,900 per month), International Exchange Hall (single room about 13 m²; Building A ¥5,900, Building B ¥15,000), Nishiyachi Dormitory (men only, private room, ¥20,000 per month). Residence is limited to 1 year or less, with 'a few' places for each, and applications are accepted Feb 1-15.
