Good to know before applying
- Applications from abroad, and from people with the "Temporary Visitor" status of residence, are accepted for the Early Round only. If you cannot come to Japan, you cannot take the exam and the examination fee is not refunded.
- If you will graduate from or leave your Japanese-language school by the end of December 2026, you must leave Japan once and apply for a Certificate of Eligibility (consult the International Exchange Center before applying)
- Entering information online alone does not complete your application. After paying the examination fee, mail your application documents by registered express mail (kani kakitome sokutatsu) from a post office counter within the period (for the Pre-Arrival exam, they must arrive at the office in each country within the period).
- If you do not respond to a notice about missing documents, your application is not accepted. You cannot change your chosen department after applying.
- Simply transferring the admission fee and tuition does not complete enrollment; you must also mail the enrollment documents within the period. Nothing is accepted after the period ends.
