Good to know before applying

  1. You cannot apply without first completing the "preliminary check of application documents" (August 31 to September 4, 2026; documents sent from abroad must arrive by the deadline).
  2. The JLPT cannot replace the EJU. You cannot take the exam if you have not taken the subjects designated for your department.
  3. You cannot enroll if your attendance rate at your Japanese language school is below 80% or if you are judged to lack sufficient ability to cover expenses (the admission registration fee is not refunded).
  4. Enrollment payments must be made in cash at a financial institution counter (no ATMs or online banking). Payment by international remittance is never accepted. Payment outside the period is treated as declining admission.
  5. If your 12 years of schooling include time at schools in Japan, it must total 3 years or less across junior high and high school, and the high school you graduated from must be a school abroad.
