Good to know before applying

1. For the EJU, choose and submit only one of the 1st and 2nd sittings of the 2025 academic year or the 1st and 2nd sittings of the 2026 academic year; it cannot be changed after you apply. For Interdisciplinary Science and Innovation, Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Engineering and Agriculture, you are not eligible to apply unless you reach the cut-off score
2. TOEFL, IELTS and Cambridge English exams must have been taken in January 2025 or later. TOEFL scores must be sent directly to the university; if not arranged by the application deadline, the application is not accepted
3. Web entry and paying the application fee alone do not complete the application. Documents must arrive by 5 p.m. on Nov 13 (from overseas, by EMS or similar)
4. You cannot apply to more than one faculty or department. After your application is accepted, you cannot change your chosen faculty or department
5. If the statement of purpose or similar was written by anyone other than you, including generative AI, it is treated as misconduct and admission may be canceled

Scholarships

• International Courses for October enrollment, etc.: for those with foreign nationality only who obtained eligibility to apply outside Japan, apply from outside Japan, and newly enter Japan on a student visa, half of the first-year tuition is waived
• International Courses for October enrollment, etc.: some successful applicants with excellent grades are recommended for the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship (¥117,000 per month, tuition and other fees waived)
• Privately funded international students (undergraduate): MEXT Honors Scholarship for Privately Financed International Students ¥48,000 per month (15 new awards for the 2026 academic year) and private scholarships. Apply after enrollment

Student life support

Students with the "Student" residence status cannot apply for places in the dormitory for new undergraduate students (housing information for international students is provided separately)
