Good to know before applying
- Only women can apply (for non-Japanese nationals, the legal sex must be "female". This includes transgender women whose gender identity is female. If your legal sex is different, in principle contact the consultation desk by one month before applications open).
- For the Faculties of Letters, Science and Engineering you must take the TOEIC or TOEFL, and for the Faculty of Human Life and Environment the TOEFL, to apply. Scores must be from within the past 2 years at the time of application and submitted as originals; institutional special tests (TOEIC-IP, TOEFL-ITP) are not accepted.
- You must have taken the 2026 EJU (June or November) in the subjects set by each faculty. Choose one session when you apply.
- The application period is January 4 to 7, 2027 (must arrive; postmarks in Japan up to January 6 are valid). Send by registered express mail; applications cannot be brought in person.
- You must hold the "Student" residence status (or a status that can be changed to "Student"), or be expected to obtain it by enrollment.

Documents to prepare
Application form and photo sheet (printed from the web application), certificate of graduation (or completion) or of expected graduation, transcripts, copy of your 2026 EJU admission ticket, TOEIC or TOEFL score (original), copy of your certificate of residence (for those living in Japan; cannot be omitted) or copy of your passport (for those not living in Japan). Attach a Japanese or English translation to certificates in other languages.
