Osaka Metropolitan University admits international students through 3 routes.Based on the guidelines for April 2027 entry

Good to know before applying

1. Application documents must arrive by simple registered mail within the mailing period. Hand delivery is not possible. If sent from abroad, they are valid only if they arrive in Japan by the deadline date.
2. Graduation and academic record certificates must be originals (an original diploma or report card is not accepted; copies are not accepted). Documents in languages other than Japanese or English need a Japanese or English translation certified by a public body.
3. Only TOEFL Test Date scores from tests taken on or after April 1, 2025 are valid. MyBest scores and the Home Edition are not accepted. You cannot apply without a valid score report (College of Sustainable System Sciences, Agriculture, Veterinary Medicine, Nursing).
4. If applicants exceed 25 for Letters or 20 for Commerce, a first-stage selection by total EJU score may be done.
5. Applications are not accepted if your passport or period of stay expires before the specified date (October 4, 2026 for the College of Sustainable System Sciences and Veterinary Medicine; December 15, 2026 for the others), unless you have proof that you are renewing it.

The admission fee is ¥382,000 for "others," and ¥282,000 for "residents of Osaka Prefecture and their children" (a residence certificate in Osaka Prefecture for at least 1 year before the enrollment date; the same requirement applies to foreign nationals). Annual tuition is ¥535,800. The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine has an extra contribution for laboratory equipment and practical training of ¥185,000 a year.

Application confirmation form, photo form, original graduation certificate and academic record from your last school, documents proving nationality (residence card, residence certificate, passport), EJU score confirmation, and, depending on the faculty, a statement of purpose and TOEFL score
