Good to know before applying

  1. The tuition scholarship stops if attendance, grades or compliance with student rules are judged insufficient, or if you do not pass JLPT N2 or higher by the end of the second year
  2. There is no exemption from the written exam based on JLPT or EJU scores. The written exam is set at N2 level, and past exams are not published
  3. Recommendation Admission (designated schools) requires an exclusive application, and you cannot decline admission. You must be enrolled at a Japanese language institution designated by the university and keep a total attendance rate of 85% or higher until graduation (admission may be canceled if it falls below)
  4. The online application deadline and the document submission deadline are the same day (must arrive by then). Entering the data alone does not complete the application. Documents and the application screening fee are generally not refunded for any reason
  5. Open to those who have registered a residence in Japan and are enrolled in (or expected to graduate from, or have graduated from) a Japanese language institution or similar in Japan. You must not have exceeded the permitted hours of activity outside your status of residence during your stay
