Good to know before applying

  1. To be eligible, you must have taken both the Japanese and Japan and the World subjects of the 2026 EJU (first or second session) in Japanese.
  2. Online registration and paying the screening fee are not enough to complete your application. Bring the full set of documents, or send them by registered mail with express delivery by November 27 (postmark valid for mailed documents).
  3. (Faculty of Regional Policy) If you live outside Japan, you cannot mail your documents from abroad. An agent living in Japan handles the procedures, and the university does not, in principle, apply for the Certificate of Eligibility on your behalf.
  4. The graduation (expected) certificate and transcript must be originals issued by the principal of the school you attended. Copies are accepted only if certified by an embassy, etc. (certification by Japanese language schools is not accepted).
  5. The screening fee and entrance fee can be paid only by credit card issued in Japan, convenience store, Pay-easy or online banking. The entrance fee is not refunded, in principle.
