Good to know before applying
- Application documents must be mailed by simple registered mail in the university's designated envelope (must arrive by 5 p.m. on January 25; hand delivery to the counter is not possible). examination admission tickets and acceptance notices can be sent only to addresses in Japan.
- You must take the 2026 EJU (June or November). Bring the original EJU admission ticket on the day of the interview.
- A TOEIC L&R score of 500 or higher or a TOEFL iBT score of 52 or higher is required. TOEFL scores must be sent directly from ETS (DI code C754; delivery can take up to 2 months). TOEIC digital official certificates and IP tests are not accepted.
- The ¥17,000 application screening fee can only be paid at a Japan Post Bank (post office) counter (ATMs are not accepted).
- "12 years of schooling abroad" is limited to schooling that is part of the regular school system in a foreign country. If you attended an international school or similar abroad, inquire by November 11.

Student life support
There is an International Exchange House for international students on the Fuchu and Koganei campuses (open call; applications for single rooms for new students open around February). You can also move into the Hitotsubashi University International Student Residence.
