This is a degree program taught mainly in English (you also take Japanese-language courses). Stage 1 is a document screening; Stage 2 is an online oral exam.

Good to know before applying
- People who have graduated (or are expected to graduate) from a Japanese high school or similar are not eligible even if they are foreign nationals (except those with qualifications such as the International Baccalaureate).
- For the Faculty of Economics, send documents only by registered express mail from a post office counter in Japan. Mail from abroad is not accepted at all. The address on the return envelope must also be in Japan.
- The EJU must be from the June or November 2026 sessions only (for the pre-arrival exam, the November 2025 and June 2026 sessions taken outside Japan).
- TOEFL, TOEIC and IELTS score reports must in principle arrive within the application period. It takes a considerable time to have them issued, so prepare early.
- The admission fee is not refunded even if you decline after completing the enrollment procedure.

Application form, admit card and photo sheet, "What I want to study at a Japanese university" (1,000 characters in Japanese or 500 words in English), transcript and certificate of (expected) graduation (with translation and certification of translation), copy of residence card, copy of EJU admit card, TOEFL/TOEIC score report, etc.

Student life support
Minezawa International House (international students in principle for up to 1 year, ¥11,700 per month), and Tokiwadai and Ooka International Residences are available. Apply in January to February before the results are announced.
