A city in western Gifu Prefecture that takes about 1 hour to Nagoya if you go to Ogaki Station on the Yoro Railway and transfer to JR. Because it is where the Nagara, Kiso and Ibi rivers meet, Senbon-Matsubara, where the Satsuma domain built embankments at the risk of their lives in the Edo period, and Chisui Shrine honoring them remain, and in spring a tulip festival with 100,000 bulbs is held at Kisosansen Park. However, getting to Nagoya requires a transfer, so commuting is a hassle, and the entertainment area is small, so daily life depends heavily on a car. It suits families and single-person households who want a car-based life in a quiet rural town with riverside history and festivals.
