A coastal commuter town in western Hyogo, famous for the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge and for Akashi octopus and akashiyaki. By New Rapid Service it is within 20 minutes of Sannomiya, and rents are distinctly cheaper than in Sannomiya and downtown Osaka. It has a good reputation as a place for families to settle, with a record of population growth for ten straight years thanks to its bold child-rearing support policies, and being at the western end, you trade a longer commute to the city center for the fresh seafood market.

This is a commuter town in western Hyogo beside the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, served by the JR Sanyo Main Line and the Sanyo Electric Railway. Famous for the fresh seafood of the Akashi Strait and akashiyaki, it has good access to Sannomiya and Osaka by New Rapid Service while rents are low. Because it is in the west, it takes somewhat longer to reach the city center, which you should keep in mind. It suits families and office workers who want a seaside environment along with low housing costs.
