Living in Kobe Station

The western gateway to Kobe and a port area with a strong tourist and commercial character, with the large shopping mall Umie and the Mosaic night-view spot in Harborland south of the station. The Kobe Rapid Transit Railway and the subway Kaigan Line, linked by an underground mall, are also within walking distance, so you effectively use several lines together. It is cheaper than Sannomiya, but Chuo Ward ranks lowest for public safety among Kobe's nine wards, which you should also keep in mind.
