Living in Motomachi

A neighborhood where Nankin-machi, one of Japan's three great Chinatowns, the former settlement lined with Western-style buildings, and the 140-year-old Motomachi shopping street come together to create Kobe's distinctive exotic and old-fashioned downtown atmosphere. Sannomiya is one stop away (a 10-minute walk too), and a strength is that you can choose between the JR and Hanshin lines. Rents are at a similar level to Sannomiya, since both are in Chuo Ward.
