戸塚 · Kanagawa
The representative commuting hub of southern Yokohama. Trains leave in both directions, toward Yokohama and toward Tokyo, and a large shopping mall connected to the station makes daily-life infrastructure solid. Many say that perceived safety has improved since redevelopment, but in return it is a somewhat long distance for commuting to Shinjuku or Shibuya every day, and because the ward is wide, there are also areas away from the station that need a bus.
It is a hub in southwestern Yokohama served by five lines including the JR Tokaido, Yokosuka and Shonan-Shinjuku lines and the Blue Line. Redevelopment around the station has made commercial facilities solid and life convenient. As an outlying part of Yokohama, it is far from central Tokyo. With good access to Tokyo and Yokohama on the Tokaido Line and reasonable rents, there is high demand from families.
