Living in Shonandai

A transfer hub in northern Fujisawa City where three lines meet. You can aim at both Tokyo and Yokohama, and several supermarkets cluster in front of the station, making grocery shopping easy. However, a commute to central Tokyo takes around an hour one way and rents are not as cheap as is commonly thought, so it is more accurate to see it as a 'transport-hub-type satellite residential area' than as 'living close to work'.

With three lines crossing, access is good in all directions: Shinjuku, Yokohama and Shonan. You should keep in mind that it is an outlying area far from the city center. With universities and residential areas side by side, it is a rising residential area with plenty of student and family demand and reasonable rents.
