Living in Ikebukuro

One of Tokyo's three major sub-centers and the gateway toward Saitama, a very large terminal. Subculture hubs such as Sunshine City and Otome Road coexist with a Chinese commercial district, so daily convenience is among the best in Tokyo, and rents are clearly cheaper than in the other sub-centers, Shinjuku and Shibuya. However, the character differs extremely by exit, and the area near the entertainment district to the north and west is far from quiet living.

It is a huge transfer hub counted, along with Shinjuku and Shibuya, as one of Tokyo's three major sub-centers. JR lines, private railways and subways gather here so transport is convenient, and with many department stores and large commercial facilities, shopping and daily convenience are excellent. As a large lively district, the area around the station is always crowded, and it is good to know that there is an entertainment district in part of the east. Among the three sub-centers, rents are relatively reasonable, making it highly popular with international students and office workers who want to enjoy transport and daily convenience while saving money.
