A foodie neighborhood packed with ramen shops and izakaya around the 100-year-old Seiten-dori shopping street, known as Osaka's top ramen battleground. Adjacent to the Umekita redevelopment, tower condominiums keep going up, and land prices have risen to third in the Osaka area. A downtown premium has been added, but given its location within walking distance of Umeda, many people still consider it reasonable.

This is a popular downtown residential area one stop from Umeda, served by the JR Osaka Loop Line and Tozai Line and the Hanshin Line. Well-rated restaurants and izakaya are packed into every alley, earning it the name Osaka's foodie neighborhood, and while close to Kita, the atmosphere is much calmer. Because of its popularity, rents have risen and competition for newly built units exists, which you should keep in mind. It is especially popular with young office workers who want both access to the city center and a feel of local daily life.
