武蔵小杉 · Kanagawa
A newly popular residential area whose skyline is formed by redeveloped tower condominiums. With JR and Tokyu overlapping, anywhere in central Tokyo is within 20 to 30 minutes, so dual-income households and families have flocked here, and commercial and childcare facilities are also well developed. In return, morning crowding from the surge in population, the long JR-Tokyu transfer walk, and relatively expensive rents hold it back.
It is a redeveloped new town in Kawasaki where the JR lines and six lines in all, including the Tokyu Toyoko and Meguro lines, meet. Lined with tower condominiums and equipped with large commercial facilities, it is very popular with dual-income households and families. It is good to know that, with the surge in population, platforms are badly crowded at commuting hours and that there is a history of flooding in the past. Direct service to Shibuya, Yokohama and Tokyo Station gives it top-level access in multiple directions.
