Living in Sugamo

A neighborhood at the eastern edge of Toshima Ward with the Jizo-dori shopping street, called 'the Harajuku for grandmothers'. You can reach Ikebukuro, Shinjuku and Otemachi without transferring, and language schools and share houses cluster near the station, making it a good first home for international students. In return, it does not have the feel of a young neighborhood where you look for things to do at night.
