Kyushu's largest commercial hub, with department stores, underground malls and the Nakasu nightlife district all within walking distance. Its shopping and nightlife infrastructure, including department stores, underground malls and Parco, is overwhelming, and because it is close to Busan by ship and plane, there are many Korean international students and working holiday makers, so Korean hubs such as Korean restaurants and the consulate are clustered in the area. Because it is downtown, rents in the popular areas are on the high side. Shopping, transit and Korean infrastructure are all in one place, so it especially suits single people and international students with a wide range of activity.
