Students & working holiday

A planned city newly built on former farmland after Kyushu University's Ito Campus relocated in 2005. Roads and commercial facilities are tidily maintained, and as students and residents have steadily increased, it has become the busiest station on the Chikuhi Line. The through subway service reaches Tenjin without a transfer but takes time, and it is clearly cheaper than the city center, so it suits Ito Campus students and researchers and demand for newly built places to live alone.

This is an emerging university town in Nishi Ward beside Kyushu University's Ito Campus, on the JR Chikuhi Line. As a planned city built through the university's relocation, newly built studios and commercial facilities are tidily maintained, and students and researchers gather, giving it energy, while rents are more reasonable than in the city center. However, it is some distance from downtown Hakata, so commuting takes time. It especially suits Kyushu University international students and students who want a newly built place to live alone.
