長久手 · Nagoya
A planned residential area east of Nagoya, mostly newly built (a separate city, not part of Nagoya City), where universities cluster and where AEON Mall and Ghibli Park are located. It was once ranked the city with the youngest average age in Japan, and it has many young families and students. However, the only railway within the city is Linimo, so reaching the city center presupposes a transfer, and as its popularity rises, market prices are trending upward.
This is Nagakute City, beside the Expo site, Ghibli Park and universities. Linimo gives good access to Fujigaoka, newly built housing and commercial facilities are tidy so daily life is clean, and young families and students gather, making it lively yet calm. However, there is no railway other than Linimo, so line options are limited, and rents have risen with its popularity. It is an eastern commuter town that suits families and international students who want a newly built environment and access to universities.
