Living in Nopporo

Ebetsu City's university town, home to four universities and about 10,000 students. The AEON Town, a 6 to 7 minute walk from the station, covers your grocery shopping, and housing costs are clearly cheaper than in central Sapporo. However, the direct airport rapid train, the Rapid Airport, does not stop here, so you have to change at Sapporo Station, and it is a heavy-snow area with total winter snowfall exceeding 5 m, so winter travel needs separate consideration.

Nopporo is the central residential area of Ebetsu City on the JR Hakodate Main Line. You can reach Sapporo Station quickly by JR, and with universities, plenty of green space and neat residential streets, it is popular with students and families, and rents are low. However, it is some distance from central Sapporo, and you need to allow for winter snowfall. It suits families and international students who want a fast commute, low housing costs and a calm environment.
