あいの里 · Sapporo
A new town at the northernmost tip of Kita Ward, planned on a large site, with high-rise housing and commercial facilities concentrated in front of the station and tidy roads and sidewalks. It is rated as having a good child-rearing environment, and rents are low relative to the city center. However, reaching the city center takes time, and Kita Ward is regarded as the area with the most snowfall among Sapporo's flat districts, so the burden of snow removal in winter is considerable.
This is Ainosato, a planned housing development in northern Kita Ward, on the JR Gakuen-Toshi Line. As a widely laid-out new town, it has tidy residential streets, schools and greenery, and low rents make it a good place for families to settle calmly. However, it is far to the north of the city center, and winter cold and travel can be a burden. It especially suits families who want low housing costs and a family-friendly new-town environment.
