Living in Oasa

A campus town known as 'Bunkyodai', where three universities are gathered. Studio and 1K listings are plentiful, and rents are clearly cheaper than in Sapporo itself. Oasa is a university-oriented residential area of Ebetsu City on the JR Hakodate Main Line. With universities nearby there are many students, the quiet residential area has plenty of green space, and you can commute to Sapporo by JR while rents stay low, making it good both for study and for settling down. However, it is some distance from central Sapporo, and you need to allow for winter cold. It suits international students and families who want access to the universities and low housing costs.
