箕面 · Osaka
An upscale residential area at the foot of the mountains in northern Osaka, beside Minoo Falls and a famous autumn-leaves spot. With public safety backed by about 2,000 security cameras and a school district that bills itself as number one in Japan for child-rearing and education, it is very popular with long-term family residents, and rents are low for northern Osaka. In exchange, access to the city center is somewhat leisurely, and Minoo-Kayano Station, opened in 2024, is a separate station 3.3 km from Hankyu's Minoo Station.
This is an upscale residential area in the north, reached by the Hankyu Minoo Line and the newly extended Osaka Metro Midosuji Line. With a natural setting beside Minoo Falls and an autumn-leaves spot and good public safety, it is preferred by families for long-term residence, and is also known for a school district with high enthusiasm for education. At the foot of the mountains, there are many hills and rents are on the high side. The subway extension has improved access to the city center, so it suits families who want pleasant nature and a good school district.
