宝塚 · Hyogo
The home of the Takarazuka Revue and the city where Osamu Tezuka spent his childhood, it has a strong cultural character and is quiet, with the Mukogawa River, hot-spring district and mountain scenery blending together. Both lines reach Osaka without a transfer, and it is also on the safer side within Hyogo Prefecture. It is a practical commuter town clearly cheaper than the wealthy Hanshin neighborhoods, but there is no through line toward Kobe Sannomiya, so a transfer is needed.
This is a residential area in the northern Hanshin corridor, served by the Hankyu Takarazuka Line and Imazu Line and the JR Fukuchiyama Line. A cultural city known for the Takarazuka Revue and the Osamu Tezuka Manga Museum, its appeal is a calm environment where river and mountains blend. Beyond the urban area it is mountainous, so a car is needed, which you should keep in mind. Hankyu and JR give access to Osaka and the setting is relaxed, so it suits family living.
