Families & long staysGood value

A city in southern Kyoto, about 25 minutes to Kyoto Station by rapid train, known as a plum blossom spot. Access to the city center is not bad and rents are low, so it suits people who commute to Kyoto and want to cut housing costs.

A city in southern Kyoto, about 25 minutes to Kyoto Station by rapid train (Miyakoji Rapid) from Joyo Station on the JR Nara Line. Aotani Bairin, known as a plum blossom spot since the Northern and Southern Courts period and greatly prospered in the Edo period under the encouragement of the lord of Yodo domain, holds a plum blossom festival every spring. However, there are fewer commercial facilities than in central Kyoto or Osaka, so the feel of an entertainment district is weak. It suits single-person households and office workers who commute to Kyoto and want to live in a quiet suburb.
