A flagship commuter town in northeastern Nagoya, with large commercial facilities such as AEON and Ias. It is a quiet residential area overall, and rents are clearly cheaper than in downtown Nagoya. This is Kasugai, a flagship commuter town in northeastern Nagoya, on the JR Chuo Line. JR reaches Nagoya Station quickly while rents are much lower than in the city center, and wide housing developments, solid living infrastructure and calm residential streets make it popular for family living. However, it is a suburb some distance from the city center, so dependence on cars is high on the outskirts of the city. It suits families and office workers who want commuting convenience, low housing costs and a family-friendly environment.
