The heart of Kyushu's transportation, where the Shinkansen, airplanes, the subway and highway buses meet at a single station. The airport is two subway stops away, so for people who travel often it is one of the most convenient locations in Japan. In exchange, rents are not low for downtown Fukuoka, and with the commercial facilities connected to the station and the Nakasu yatai street nearby, crowds and noise are part of daily life.

This is Fukuoka's gateway, where the Sanyo and Kyushu Shinkansen, the subway Kuko Line and highway buses meet. The commercial facilities connected directly to Hakata Station and the food of the Nakasu yatai (street stalls) are abundant, and the airport is 5 minutes away by subway, so transportation access is among the best in Japan. Near the entertainment district it is somewhat hectic and has a nightlife atmosphere, which you should keep in mind. The Shinkansen, the airport and the city center are all in one place, so it especially suits office workers and travel-related demand with lots of movement.
