One of Japan's three great red-light districts, set on the Naka River. Riverside yatai and what are said to be thousands of restaurants and nightlife venues make up the largest nightlife district in Kyushu and the foremost in western Japan, and Tenjin and Hakata are 1 to 3 minutes away by subway. However, Hakata Ward is known to be in the lower ranks of the city for public safety, so it is attractive for single people who want the energy of the city center, but should be approached carefully by anyone who wants a quiet place to live.

This is one of Japan's three great red-light districts, set on the Naka River, served by Nakasu-Kawabata Station on the subway Kuko Line. Yatai line the riverbank and it is the liveliest street at night, located between Tenjin and Hakata. Being an entertainment district, it is hectic at night and noisy as a residential environment, which you should keep in mind. It suits people who want the energy of the middle of the city, but those who want a calm place to live would be better off in a nearby neighborhood.
