四ツ谷 · Tokyo
Yotsuya is an office and cram-school center straddling the boundary of Shinjuku and Chiyoda wards, where the Sophia University campus and the greenery around the Akasaka State Guest House create quiet open space in the middle of the city. With the JR Chuo and Sobu lines overlapping the Tokyo Metro Marunouchi and Namboku lines, it boasts the rare advantage of living close to work in both directions: 5 minutes to Shinjuku and 9 minutes to Tokyo Station. But as an office and cram-school district there are not many actual residential listings, and rents are in the upper range of central Tokyo, so there is little 'fun of choosing' in this neighborhood.
It is a transfer hub in Chiyoda Ward where four lines meet, including the JR Chuo and Sobu lines and Tokyo Metro. The campus of Sophia University and the greenery of the outer moat come together for a calm, city-center atmosphere. It is office- and education-centered, so housing stock is small and rents are high. Shinjuku and Tokyo Station are both close, making it a well-kept area from which you can move quickly anywhere.
