Sendai's downtown, where a covered arcade shopping street runs long from north to south. Department stores, restaurants and clothing shops are packed together, so it is crowded on weekends. It is where two subway lines meet, so getting anywhere is easy. At night, though, the bar district comes alive, so if you want quiet living, it is better to look one stop away.
