Quiet residential

A coastal and mountain city at the far north of the prefecture, known for its coastal scenery and hot springs. It is quiet, life is car-centered, and it is not within Tokyo commuting range.

Kita-Ibaraki is a coastal and mountain city at the far north of the prefecture, known for the Izura Coast and hot springs. Isohara Station is 4 km away and connects via the Joban Line toward Mito (50 km), but the urban area is wide, so daily life is car-centered. Ueno is 145 km, so it is effectively a different living area from Tokyo. The sea and the mountains are both close and rents are low, but the winter wind is strong.
