An independent city adjoining Kanazawa, with the Kanazawa Institute of Technology. With many students, the supply of studio apartments is deep, and prices are lower than in downtown Kanazawa. Both the local line and the Hokutetsu line run through, so access to downtown is not difficult. The urban area spreads widely over flat land, so it is fairly good for getting around by bicycle.
