The gateway to Kanazawa where the Hokuriku Shinkansen and four local lines meet. Hotels and commercial facilities continue in front of the station, which is greeted by a glass dome and a wooden gate, so grocery shopping and meals are done at the station. Tokyo is two and a half hours away by Shinkansen, which is an advantage for people who travel often on business. However, the downtown entertainment district is another ten minutes or so away by bus.
