2024 Shinkansen. The gateway to Fukui, directly connected to Tokyo since the Shinkansen arrived in 2024.

The gateway to Fukui, directly connected to Tokyo since the Shinkansen arrived in 2024. The local line, two private railway lines and the streetcar all meet at this station and extend across the prefecture. The surroundings were redone so recently that the dinosaur sculptures in the plaza in front of the station have become a symbol. However, the entertainment district is not large, so it quiets down early at night.
