An industrial city that has handled most of Japan's eyeglass frame production. With plenty of manufacturing jobs, the share of foreign residents is high even within Fukui Prefecture. Fukui Station is a little over ten minutes away by local line, so it is within commuting range. The urban area is gathered on flat land, so it is a size where you can live by bicycle alone.
