Ibaraki-machi is a farming town on Lake Hinuma, south of Mito. There is no station in the town and the nearest, Hinuma Station, is 10 km away, so a car is essential. In exchange, Mito is close at 11 km, so you go out to Mito for shopping and hospitals. With the lake and rice fields close by, it is quiet, and it suits people who commute to Mito and want to lower rent and parking burdens.
