A village in western Nara that is 30 to 40 minutes to central Osaka if you use the neighboring station. It has an old shrine and seasonal festivals, and a large hilltop park is nearby.

A neighborhood in western Nara Prefecture where you can reach central Osaka in the 30 to 40 minute range by JR or Kintetsu from nearby Oji Station. It has Hirose Shrine, recorded in the 675 Nihon Shoki, famous for the unusual 'Sunakake Festival' held every February 11, in which sand is scattered to pray for abundant harvests, and at Umami Kyuryo Park, the largest park after Nara Park, you can enjoy seasonal flower viewing. However, compared with the entertainment districts of central Osaka the commercial scale is small, so shopping and nightlife infrastructure is modest. With a rural atmosphere famous since the Taisho era for growing grapes and strawberries, it suits families and single-person households who commute to Osaka and want nature and a relaxed pace.
