A village in northwestern Nara Prefecture, about 49 minutes from Misato Station on the JR Yamatoji Line to Osaka Station. It has Tatsuta Taisha, a shrine to the wind god said to have been founded about 2,100 years ago in the time of Emperor Sujin, and the making of straw sandals (Misatokko), which continues from the Edo period, remains a local traditional industry. However, there are few commercial facilities compared with central Osaka, and it is a small village where you can hardly expect an entertainment-district life. It suits single-person households and families who commute to Osaka and want a quiet natural environment and a neighborhood with a long history.
