A commuter city in western Nara that reaches Osaka in the 20-minute range by limited express. Access to Osaka is among the best in this area, so it is a practical choice for Osaka commuters.

A commuter city in Nara Prefecture that reaches Osaka in the 20-minute range by Kintetsu Osaka Line limited express. Mt. Nijo on the city boundary is famous as a volcano that was the stage of ancient history sung about even in the Manyoshu, and that produced three major stones: sanukitoid from the Paleolithic era, tuff for royal sarcophagi in the 5th and 6th centuries, and the Kongosa abrasive that made up much of the nation's supply after the Meiji era. However, it is worth knowing that its entertainment area is small compared with central Osaka, so you depend on nearby big cities for shopping and nightlife. It suits single-person households and families who commute to Osaka and want the nature and historic atmosphere of quiet Nara.
