Quiet residential

A small village in central Nara, around 1 hour one way to Osaka Namba via the station in a neighboring town. It is known as the birthplace of traditional performing arts and has a specialty farm product.

Using Ikebe Station or Samitagawa Station on the Kintetsu Tawaramoto Line in neighboring Kawai Town, you change trains at Shin-Oji and it takes around 1 hour one way to Osaka Namba. Omotezuka is known as the birthplace of the Yuzaki-za (later the Kanze school), where Kan'ami and Zeami were active in the Muromachi period, and the Yuzaki negi, a local specialty green onion, also comes from a legend here. The history is deep enough that a keyhole-shaped burial mound about 190 m long from the 5th century remains, like the Shimanoyama Kofun in the Toin area, but commuting to central Osaka requires a transfer, so public transportation convenience is on the weak side. It suits single-person households and retired households interested in Noh culture and ancient history who commute to Osaka and want to live in a quiet rural village.
