Living in Monzen-Nakacho

A neighborhood with high satisfaction in daily life, centered on Fukagawa Fudoson and Tomioka Hachimangu, where the atmosphere of an old working-class neighborhood and lively shopping streets live on. Otemachi is 5 to 6 minutes away with no transfer, among the best for living close to work. However, even with through service, Shinjuku and Shibuya take quite a while, which may disappoint commuters headed to the western city center, and the whole area gets crowded on market days when stalls set up.

Monzen-Nakacho is a neighborhood in Koto Ward served by two lines: the Tokyo Metro Tozai Line and the Toei Oedo Line. Its appeal is the nostalgic shitamachi (old downtown) feel, with Fukagawa Fudoson and Tomioka Hachimangu. It is not a flashy entertainment district, but it is down-to-earth and has plentiful restaurants. With good access to Otemachi and the city center and reasonable rents, it is popular with office workers.
