Living in Takao

The starting point for hiking Mt. Takao and a transport hub at the western edge of Tokyo. The JR Chuo Line and the Keio Takao Line meet here, and trains run through to Shinjuku with no transfer. Takao is a station in Hachioji where three lines meet, including the JR Chuo Line, the JR Chuo Main Line and the Keio Takao Line. Because it is close to the end of the Chuo Line, you can ride to Shinjuku seated, and it is famous as the gateway for hiking Mt. Takao.
