A pottery city about 47 minutes to Nagoya Station, where a ceramics industry that has continued for more than 1,300 years is the pillar of the area. The commute takes time, but rents are low and there is an industrial base.

A pottery city in Gifu Prefecture, about 47 minutes to Nagoya Station on the JR Chuo Main Line. Mino ware, based on the sueki firing method introduced from the Korean Peninsula around the 5th century, has been at the center of this area's industry for more than 1,300 years, and it is also where potters gathered under the protection of Oda Nobunaga and fine ceramics such as Shino ware flowered in the Momoyama period. The Toki Mino-yaki Festival held every Golden Week is counted among Japan's three major ceramics festivals together with the Arita Ceramic Fair in Saga Prefecture and the Setomono Festival in Aichi Prefecture, but compared with Nagoya it is a small regional city with a smaller entertainment area. It suits single-person households and office workers who commute to Nagoya and want pottery workshops and the atmosphere of a quiet regional city.
