Families & long staysQuiet residential

A newly emerging city in southern Ibaraki where young child-rearing households keep moving in, thanks to the prefecture's premium residential land development. Its strength is the wide, planned streets of new homes, and its population keeps growing. However, the city itself is a new town less than 20 years old, so it is still growing, and it takes 40 minutes to Akihabara on the TX, so the commute is not short.

Tsukubamirai is a planned-city-style bedroom town in southwestern Ibaraki Prefecture, home to the TX (Tsukuba Express) Miraidaira Station. It is known for Itabashi Fudoson, one of the three great Fudo temples of Kanto, and for its giant grapes. It is 40 km to central Tokyo and a minimum of 40 minutes to Akihabara, but outside the station area a car is essential. It suits office workers and families with children who want a large new home.
