Quiet residential

An industrial city at the far southeastern tip of Ibaraki, built around Kashima Shrine, the home stadium of the Antlers, and the coastal industrial zone. Train service is infrequent, so direct express buses are the practical way to Tokyo, taking around 2 hours each way, which makes a daily commute a burden. Public safety is not at the top within the prefecture either, so it is a neighborhood for residents who have jobs in the area or an attachment to it.

Kashima is an industrial city on the Ibaraki coast where the JR Kashima Line and the Oarai-Kashima Line meet. It is famous for Kashima Shrine, the birthplace of swordsmanship, and for the home stadium of the J.League's Kashima Antlers. Train service is infrequent, so it takes about 2 hours to Tokyo Station by express bus, and dependence on a car is high. It is a coastal industrial zone with a steelworks and many jobs, and it is a good place to live quietly.
