A hub in southern Saitama where you can find larger homes while still reaching central Tokyo on a single line. However, in recent years the foreign population has grown quickly, and debates over perceived safety and reports of conflict in some areas have continued, so it is good to go in knowing this side in a balanced way.

It is a hub city in southern Saitama about 15 minutes from Ueno on the JR Keihin-Tohoku Line. Redevelopment around the station has added tower condominiums and commercial facilities, and with housing cheaper than in Tokyo it has many Korean and foreign residents. Because it is not Tokyo, some people cite commuting distance and bustle as downsides. You can get both direct access to the city center and reasonable rents, so demand from families and office workers is high.
